Pedestrian bicycle bridge Aarschot nominated for Belgium Prize for Steel Construction 2012
The nominations for the thirteenth edition of the Staalbouwwedstrijd 2012 (Steel construction contest) have been announced and the pedestrian bicycle bridge Aarschot by West 8 is a finalist in category D: Civil engineering and Art. On the 23rd of November, an award ceremony will take place at the Staalbouwdag 2012 at Sheraton Hotel/ Brussels Airport in Zaventhem. read more

Governors Island awarded with the award for Excellence in Design 2012
The 24th of July, a ceremony will take place for Thirtieth Annual Awards for Excellence in Design by the New York Design Commission for Governors Island. West 8 is one of the recipients for the award for 'the construction of Governors Island Park and Public Spaces, Phase I, including the installation of Day is done by Susan Philipsz'. read more

Open Day at Rotterdam Central Station
Saturday the 14th of July, tourists and locals have the opportunity to join a tour at Rotterdam Central Station introducing the remarkable building techniques, the architecture and the construction of Rotterdam Central. On the 22nd of June, West 8 will join Longwood Gardens and Lord Cultural Resources to present a broadminded approach towards strategic, fiscal, and physical master planning. Titled "Creating a Culture of Planning and Leadership," the lecture will describe Longwood Gardens' experience working side-by-side with West 8 and Lord Cultural Resources to implement a culture of planning that will direct Longwood's cultural, garden, and landscape legacy for the next generation. read more
