First phase new Rotterdam Central Station realized

The first phase of the new Rotterdam Central Station has been realized. Under the first platform the passage is already widened from 8 to 48 meters. On the first platform all columns are placed and the first parts of the roof are being attached to it. The construction is on schedule and the new terminal will be completed in 2013. -

The Stolen Paradise

For the opening of Rome’s MAXXI National Museum of 21st century arts West 8’s site-specific installation ‘Il Nascosto Paradiso’ (The Stolen Paradise) was mounted within the inaugural exhibition SPAZIO (Space) which features the works of artists and architects. It was substantially removed by the curators shortly before the opening at the request of several prominent international artists. What remains of the installation for the exhibition consists of half the exterior elements (corten steel tree trunks in grass at the entry). -

Exactly 70 years after the bombing on Rotterdam, the permanent marking of the fire limits is finished with the unveiling of the 'Brandgrenssteen'. The solid granite stone gives information about the bombing.
