A milestone for 't Zand Square in Bruges
28-03-2017On Monday morning March 27, the first new trees arrived 't Zand Square in Bruges. 22 lime trees will be planted in the coming days. These trees are 22 or 23 years old and placed in the 'trees bunkers’: underground concrete structures that form a solid base for the application of subsurface soil for the trees. They will be planted neatly before the Easter holiday when tourists and patrons will be arriving again at the welcoming terraces at the sidewalk of the square. Construction of the square itself will continue until next year summer, when eventually in total 107 lime trees will be planted.
