Team WXY / West 8 investigated a new form of designed coastal protection, for the Rebuild by Design Competition sponsored by the Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Task Force, that would on a large scale, mitigate risk for life, economy and property within coastal zones.

The enthusiastic public made this festive opening of Rotterdam Centraal a day for all Rotterdam citizens to remember. During his tour round this brand new station, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander gave his comment to the station, "It looks beautiful, such a splendid station. Really tremendous."
